Luton Van Leasing and Contract Hire
Unlike standard panel vans, Luton vans and Box vans are usually built as a separate body on a single cab chassis. To clarify the difference a Luton incorporates the enclosed box body extended over the cab. The primary reason for purchasing a Luton or box van is that you want to be able to carry the maximum volume with the minimum trade off in payload compared to a similar wheelbase panel van.
Several UK manufacturers offer standard Luton and/or Box van builds. These are offered under manufacturer approved “one-stop” programmes. If what's on offer from manufacturer schemes fits the bill one-stop shopping makes good sense. There's peace of mind if anything goes wrong because the warranty covers both base vehicle and conversion. Also, the pricing tends to be more competitive because you are buying a package deal. Load volumes of up to 20m3 are available, which is quite impressive in a 3.5 tonne light commercial vehicle. Depending on the manufacturer you may have the choice of rear barn doors or a rear roller shutter for easy access.
However, if you need something different, even a completely bespoke body, then please call us and we will be happy to help. Many clients request an optional tail lift is fitted and we can arrange this. However, if payload is as important as load volume then it is worth considering the Renault Master Luton Van. This vehicle is based on a platform cab rather than a conventional chassis cab and has a loading height of just 550mm.
