Regulation 22 of the Health and Safety at Work Act states what welfare facilities employers must supply to comply with the law.
It is the legal duty of every employer and every self employed person to ensure that the provisions of the regulations are complied with in respect of any person at work on a who is under his control.
The crucial points are:
- Suitable and sufficient sanitary conveniences at readily accessible places (WCs)
- Washing facilities with hot and cold water
- Drinking water
- Facilities for changing clothing
- Facilities to prepare and eat meals
- A means of boiling water
- Accommodation for drying clothing
- A rest room/area
